Responsibilities
The Maintenance Engineer applies solid understanding of maintenance engineering principles and practices to support the reliability and availability of manufacturing equipment and systems. This role works within the site organization, collaborating with maintenance teams and operations to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve equipment performance. The engineer operates with moderate supervision while progressively building knowledge of company processes and culture and applying practical engineering solutions.
Major Job Responsibilities
+ Support maintenance activities by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving equipment issues within assigned areas
+ Assist in the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability
+ Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements and equipment upgrades
+ Participate in root cause analysis and follow-up corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failures
+ Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and maintenance procedures
+ Support asset management initiatives, including spare parts management and maintenance planning
+ Apply safety and environmental standards in all maintenance activities
+ Assist in training and mentoring maintenance technicians and operators as needed
Qualifications
Required:
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college
+ 3+ years’ experience in process development/improvement and/or manufacturing support for a chemical or process industry
+ Exhibit good leadership attitudes and behaviors
+ Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties.
+ Must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment with large, continuous chemical processing equipment
+ Must display ownership and a bias for action for assigned area of responsibility
+ Must have the ability to easily interface with operations personnel and establish trusted relationships
+ Must have good troubleshooting skills to analyze process data, understand equipment operations and determine root causes of failures
+ Must have a desire to be hands-on in a plant operating environment
+ Must be motivated and display initiative
+ Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with moderate supervision
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve straightforward technical issues
+ Good communication skills to effectively interact with maintenance teams, operations, and vendors
+ Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles
+ Experience supporting or leading small projects or process improvement initiatives
