Job Description:

The School LPN/LVN is responsible for identifying and addressing health concerns in students within the school setting. This role includes promoting general wellness, providing health education, and supporting disease prevention efforts. The nurse will monitor the student’s physical condition throughout the school day and refer to appropriate healthcare resources when necessary. All care is delivered in accordance with the School LPN/LVN scope of practice and in compliance with applicable state education codes.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide direct nursing care to students throughout the school day.

+ Support daily health needs including medication administration, feeding, and personal care.

+ Collaborate with teachers, EC staff, and parents to ensure student safety and success.

+ Document care provided and maintain compliance with school health protocols.

+ Promote general wellness and provide health education as needed.

Qualifications:

+ Current LPN/LVN license in North Carolina (RN also accepted).

+ Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.

+ One year of school nurse experience preferred.

+ One year of pediatric experience preferred.

+ Current CPR certification.

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as applicable.

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
