    Elayn Hunt Correctional Center (EHCC), located in St. Gabriel, and is currently seeking a full-time teacher for the Education Department.

    The applicant shall possess a valid Louisiana teaching certificate issued by Louisiana Department of Education at the time of appointment.

     

    Monitor areas identified in federal and state funding mandates, including attendance, enrollment, goal setting,

     

    Family Educational Rights and Privacy ACT (FERPA), grievance procedures, and other requirements set by federal regulation.

     

    Maintain an ongoing open enrollment to allow for maximum student participation.

     

    Maintain accurate student records for all students enrolled.

     

    Develop reading and math strategies appropriate for students.

     

    Measure student gains at periodic levels and adjust teaching methods and activities, as needed.

     

    Monitor and document student participation and progress.

     

    Provide reinforcement of student successes.

     

    Maintain an orderly environment within the classroom.

     

    Participate in all state compliance training/professional development opportunities as outlined in the DPS&C

     

    Annual Education Calendar.

     

    This position will be expected to work 40 hours per week, 12 months a year, excluding state holidays for a total of 2080 work hours.

     

    Qualifications must include a current, valid Louisiana Teacher's Certificate in an academic content area with an Adult Education endorsement or take six semester hours per academic year approved by the Education Director to renew an expired or to acquire a Louisiana teaching certificate with an Adult Education endorsement.

     

    If you have any college credit, a degree, and/or teacher certification, you may attach a transcript and/or teaching certificate to your application so that it may be included in the review of your qualifications and experience.

     

    Salary will be determined by the Iberville Parish School Board pay plan for a 2080-hour work year, which will be based upon experience, certification, and education level.
