Why This Role Matters

As a Cook, you'll prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals that make a difference for patients, residents, staff, and guests every day.

What You'll Do

+ Lead and direct staff assisting with meal preparation and service

+ Train new team members

+ Prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, and other menu items to safe standards

+ Create meals that meet dietary and nutritional requirements

+ Bake breads, rolls, and pastries

+ Maintain accurate food usage and cost records

+ Ensure kitchen cleanliness and equipment functionality

+ Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

+ Strong communication skills

+ Ability to learn and follow food safety and sanitation standards

+ Knowledge of food handling and cooking techniques

+ Ability to work efficiently, as part of a team, and under pressure

+ Commitment to personal cleanliness

+ Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification and BLS within 1 year

Preferred:

+ High school or vocational coursework in food safety

+ One year of related experience

Physical Requirements

+ Ability to lift 25 lbs and push/pull food carts

+ Strong audio, visual, and communication skills
