Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in the PROCTECTION SUPPORT OPERATIONS of NAS WHITING FIELD SEC DET. Responsibilities You will research training materials to provide the most up-to-date material and information to law enforcement students. You will coordinate with other federal law enforcement instructors to develop different approaches and methods of instruction. You will monitor law enforcement personnel to ensure compliance with agency standards and policies governing employee proficiency in the use and care of assigned firearms. You will identify law enforcement employee development needs to verify performance goals are met You will explain policies, goals, procedures, and regulations to assigned law enforcement personnel. GS-07-I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Conducting preliminary investigations of crimes, civil and criminal complaints, to include interviewing witnesses; 2) Training and advising subordinates on law enforcement policies and procedures; 3) Applying riot and crowd control techniques utilizing specialized law enforcement equipment; and 4) Investigating motor vehicle accidents, including producing narratives, diagrams, and measurements of the scene. GS-09-I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Applying law enforcement procedures to instruct on Federal and local laws, traffic laws, established rules, regulations, and legal authorities; 2) Preparing instructional methods and theories used in a Police Officer's training environment; 3) Instructing investigative procedures, techniques, and methods to resolve crimes and other incidents; and 4) Developing course materials and techniques to train law enforcement personnel.
