    As the **Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern,** you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

     

    This position reports to the Sr Manager, Ops Support & Special Projects and is based out of our Anoka, MN office.

    What you’ll do:

    + Assist with time studies, data collection, and statistical analysis to identify process improvement opportunities

    + Support Kaizen events, 5S activities, and other Lean initiatives

    + Participate in value stream mapping and process documentation

    + Help prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations

    + Collaborate with CI engineers and specialists on improvement projects

    + Observe and learn Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) and Lean tools in practice

    + Hands-on experience with process improvement projects in a high-volume manufacturing environment

    + Other duties as assigned

    Experience you bring:

    + Currently pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

    + Basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints concepts

    + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    + Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) is a plus

    You might have:

    + Coursework or projects involving Lean/Six Sigma

    + Experience with CAD or 3D printing

    + Familiarity with root cause problem-solving techniques

    Additional Information:

    + Shift: Monday-Friday (8-9 hour) days

    + Summer Internship: May-August

    Work Environment:

    Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

    Pay Range:

    Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $26.00

     

    The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
