Hand Therapy Fellowship (Occupational Therapy)…

A 12-13 month fellowship program consisting of mentored advanced clinical practice in Hand Therapy and Occupational Therapy at our outpatient clinic, and scholarly activities including:
+ Physician shadowing and observation of hand surgery; bi-weekly physician hand conference
+ Bimonthly Hand Conference with Hand Surgery Fellowship
+ Didactics consisting of weekly skills lab, two weekend learning modules, and online learning
+ Evidence-based independent self-study and research for a case presentation or a quality improvement project in upper extremity rehabilitation
The Johns Hopkins Hand Therapy Fellowship Program is accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. It incorporates the following core elements:
+ Provide advanced knowledge and skills in evaluation, plan of care development and implementation, and clinical reasoning skills for clients with upper extremity and hand conditions and impairments.
+ Be part of a highly skilled interprofessional health care team.
+ Employ effective skills in clinical intervention and in education of clients.
+ Be a reflective practitioner who embraces core values of the profession and respect for individuals, their cultures and the community at large.

The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has been helping patients recover function since 1992. Our twenty convenient locations form the Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network, which provides comprehensive rehabilitation services and continuum of care to patients throughout Maryland.

**This is a position with Johns Hopkins Hospital. This application is for the Fellowship position. Applicant must have a Maryland state license, be registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, have outpatient rehabilitation level II fieldwork experience, completed the Physical Agents Modalities Certification course didactics (per Maryland Regulations COMAR 10.46.06 [pdf] (https://health.maryland.gov/botp/docs/comar/10.46.06.pdf) ) and be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by the PMR department. Preference is given to those with one year of work experience in an outpatient clinic that treats hand and upper extremity conditions.

Salary: $42,000-$44,000
