Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for an Engineering Tech to join their team in Melbourne, FL. This position is part troubleshooting and computer repair, part asset management, and part shipping out equipment to the field. The right candidate will be detailed orientated and thorough when adhering to processes. In this role, you will provide hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting for hardware issues across computers, monitors, servers, and communication equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Dell, Oracle, HP, Xerox, and NetApp. You will diagnose and resolve failures on multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Unix, while maintaining accurate records of all troubleshooting and repairs in a ticketing system. Responsibilities include refurbishing and testing hardware returned from the field or lab, documenting repair and testing procedures, and analyzing failure trends and inventory data to inform engineering teams and recommend solutions. You will manage shipments by fulfilling requests, packing equipment, and creating documentation, as well as tracking outstanding returns and transporting hardware between labs, warehouses, and repair facilities. Additional tasks include performing software builds on various baselines, tagging and recording new hardware assets, conducting inventories and audits, and reconciling asset databases. You will also provide guidance to on-site technicians during preventative maintenance, develop repair and testing procedures, assist in creating maintenance manuals and technical documentation, and research new issues to build troubleshooting resources. This position requires adherence to established procedures, safeguarding government-furnished property, and applying engineering principles to optimize maintenance processes and improve inventory management. Critical thinking and independent action are essential to resolve complex issues effectively.

Skills and Requirements
1+ years of experience in a technical support or computer repair position
Experience diagnosing hardware issues on enterprise servers, disk arrays, monitors, and computers
Inventory and Asset management experience
Excel experience
Detail oriented Troubleshoot failures using multiple OS platforms to include Windows, Linux, and Unix
