Operations Associate – Agronomy Focus
As an Operations Associate with an emphasis on agronomy, you will be a key contributor to the success of our crop management and farm support services. You will assist in delivering agronomy solutions to our farmer-owners and customers, including crop inputs, field recommendations, and product guidance, while also supporting the efficient handling and storage of grain. Responsibilities include coordinating agronomy product inventory, maintaining facilities and equipment, supporting on-farm operations, and providing exceptional service to our growers. This role requires travel to multiple locations to support agronomy initiatives and ensure operational excellence.
What will you do?
+ Assist in all aspects of fertilizer and chemical operations, ensuring accurate and timely handling of agronomy products.
+ Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor, including tracking agronomy inputs and field application needs.
+ Unload bulk and packaged products, pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks, and ensure proper storage and labeling of agronomy products.
+ Tender to applicators, providing guidance on product handling, safety, and agronomy best practices.
+ Fill NH3 nurse tanks during the season, ensuring accurate application rates based on crop needs.
+ Understand and apply basic agronomy chemistry of all products, including nutrient interactions, crop requirements, and environmental considerations.
+ Maintain records of agronomy product usage, applications, and grower service reports to support operational and advisory decisions.
+ Assist with Grain and Elevator operations.
+ Receive, dry, and unload grain.
+ Measure grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
+ Assist in grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
+ If applicable to location, operate a train locomotive & obtain a training certificate on locomotive operations.
+ Maintain grain conditions by testing temperatures and blending.
+ Perform equipment and facility maintenance including housekeeping records and cleanliness.
+ Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service.
Requirements
Licenses:Must have a Class A CDL with applicable endorsements or be able to obtain one, if applicable to the location. This position requires the safe operation of a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the job. The employee must meet the qualifications set forth in the company’s vehicle safety policy. Failure to meet these qualifications could result in removal from this position.
