JOB OVERVIEW:
Nammo Defense Systems is a leading provider of innovative defense solutions, specializing in high-performance shoulder fired weapons, rocket motors, and propulsion systems for military applications. The Test Department is responsible for the safe testing of NDS products to ensure these standards are met.
The NDS Test Engineer role is critical to the development, testing, and validation of cutting-edge defense systems. The Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting tests to evaluate the performance and safety of products in both laboratory and field environments.
This position will report to the Test Department Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, design, and execute tests on various defense-related products, including shoulder fired weapon systems, propulsion systems, and other advanced technologies
• Develop and implement test procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with both internal and external safety and quality standards
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including product engineers, design teams, and production to ensure proper test execution and analysis
• Reduce and analyze test data and generate detailed reports, providing clear and actionable insights to inform product development and improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the testing phase, ensuring that all problems are addressed in a timely manner
• Maintain test equipment and tools, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
• Provide technical support and expertise for both internal and customer inquiries related to test results and product performance
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and practices
• Follow standard practices and safety procedures.
• Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING
The Test Engineer position will take direction from the Test Department Manager but will also work closely with the cross-functional Program Teams to support production programs.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Physics, or related field from an accredited university
• Proficient with solid modeling or CAD packages
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations
Preferred:
• Minimum 5+ years in Defense/Aerospace industry preferred
• Experience with data acquisition equipment and software (HBK Genesis/Perception, NI/LabVIEW, etc.)
