Responsibilities
+ Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical procedures, ensuring readiness and accuracy.
+ Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting patient and team safety.
+ Obtain additional supplies and equipment during procedures as needed, while monitoring the operating room environment.
+ Maintain adherence to infection prevention standards and Standard/Transmission-Based Precautions at all times.
+ Support room turnover, cleaning, and equipment care to promote efficiency and workflow.
+ Participate in skill development, team collaboration, and orientation or training of new staff or students as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Requires high school diploma or GED and graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program.
+ Certified through a national certifying body . Must maintain active certification throughout employment.
Preferred:
+ Associate Degree or higher encouraged.
