    Duration: starting in Spring 2026 or Fall 2026

    Brief Description of Duties:

    SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Full Time Tenure Track, teaching position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor for the Automotive Technology Programs. The Auto Tech candidate will need knowledge in all A1 - A8 ASE areas with a focus on L 1 and advanced diagnostics, electronics, various scan tool exposure and utilization of advance driving assistance systems being used in the industry and other courses to meet the teaching needs of the degree programs. Teaching assignments will demand a strong dedication to hands-on, in-field instruction, and application. Specific manufacture training, promotion, and administrative responsibilities will be required for this position.

     

    Additional responsibilities may include: academic advisement; college/university service; course and program development; program promotion; and professional development. Additional opportunities for extra service may be available during the summer months through the offering of training and workshops.

     

    The person filling this position will be expected to collaborate with existing faculty to utilize their expertise in developing opportunities related to automotive repair/ collision and mechanical/ electrical systems using state-of-art technology. The successful candidate must demonstrate teaching proficiency and possess field experience in the area of mechanical/ electrical systems. They must also have an understanding and appreciation for technical education at the associate and bachelor degree levels.

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    For tenure-track instructor, Bachelors Degree in Automotive Technology or Engineering with 5 years of industry work experience and/or teaching experience in a related discipline is required.

     

    For tenure-track assistant professor, Masters Degree in Education and 5 years of teaching and/or field work experience preferred.
