Exterior Ornamentation Core Supervisor

A functional management role responsible for technical content, strategy & processes for Exterior Ornamentation. In this role, you will serve as the core supervisor for Exterior Ornamentation, ensuring robust design & delivery of components & vehicle systems. In this role, this individual will lead all technical & business plan aspects, including product & technology development, supplier development, product verification & production validation, engineering sign-off, CDP signoffs, ongoing product support & quality assurance of products in the field. In addition, the Exterior Ornamentation Core Supervisor will lead professional development of team members and oversee budgeting & resource allocation.
What you'll do...
Supervise a team of 6 or more Core Engineers
Support successful delivery of all engineering KPIs including Quality, Cost, Weight & Functional Performance (QCWF) for MCA / ICA programs.
Responsible for maintaining core engineering documents for Exterior Ornamentation
Lead overall Exterior Ornamentation attribute performance, and manufacturing through a systemic review of interactions between interfacing components and systems
Responsible for adhering to FMA, DVP&R, Quality History & Prevent Recurrence
Analyze designs during the development process & address any potential failures & error states
Lead and mentor teams to successfully deliver on-time program milestones with quality
Interface with all levels of management & outside activities on Exterior Ornamentation issues
Ability to share & present work to cross-functional teams and executive leadership
Lead core engineering with program lessons learned via body tech club and other forums
Responsible for meeting/exceeding quality targets for Exterior Ornamentation
Lead Quality issue resolution using 8D process
Support Exterior Ornamentation Total Value Management (TVM) Engineering team and design Sign Off
Lead SREA process for Exterior Ornamentation, including PV testing requirements, data review and approval
Lead potential recall investigations for Exterior Ornamentation related concerns
Support Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) with supplier issue resolution
You'll have...
BS in Engineering
8+ years of experience in Design and Release (D&R) of Class A components
Full Program experience from Studio Concepts to Vehicle Launch on at least one major program
Demonstrated 8D problem solving skills
Demonstrated cross functional team leadership skills
Will require occasional travel to Ford and supplier assembly plants for readiness and sign-off events and travel to global Ford engineering hubs
Even better, you may have...
Thorough knowledge of Global Product Development System (GPDS) and proven skill of interpreting process deliverables for Exterior Ornamentation Commodities
Master’s degree preferred
