Opportunity

Kohler Co.’s award-winning Global Creative team is seeking a digitally first, concept-driven Art Director to join our growing creative collective. This energetic and detail-oriented creative will help shape content and campaigns across digital, social, and omnichannel touchpoints — crafting thoughtful, modern creative solutions that bring Kohler’s brand to life.

As an Art Director, you’ll partner closely with Copywriter II to develop creative concepts from idea to execution across multiple platforms. You’ll collaborate with designers, strategists, producers, and business partners to deliver work that blends elevated design with platform-specific thinking — helping evolve Kohler’s storytelling for a new generation of digital-first and content-rich experiences.

This role is ideal for a rising creative with a strong visual eye, fluency in social and motion-forward storytelling, and a passion for emerging tools and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development

+ Concept and design creative ideas across digital, social, and omnichannel campaigns.

+ Partner with Copywriter II to develop and execute cohesive visual and verbal storytelling.

+ Own the early creative phase by gathering swipes, shaping moodboards, and clearly communicating high-level ideas that set direction for concept development.

+ Carry early creative ideas into execution by developing strong designs and overseeing the work as it moves through feedback into final channel-ready assets.

+ Explore and prototype ideas using emerging tools — including AI and generative design — to enhance speed and creative range.

Digital Storytelling + Platform Fluency

+ Create content optimized for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, kohler.com, and emerging digital spaces.

+ Support the development of short-form video, motion, interactive content, and mobile-first storytelling formats.

+ Stay informed on cultural, social, and aesthetic trends — bringing modern insight into concepts and executions.

+ Partner with production and social teams to support agile capture opportunities and on-set content needs.

Craft + Execution

+ Deliver design and art direction that meet the brand’s high standards of craft, clarity, and consistency.

+ Provide clear, actionable feedback to retouchers, editors, and designers to ensure visual accuracy and brand alignment through final delivery.

+ Work seamlessly across mediums — digital, print, in-store, and experiential environments.

+ Collaborate with creative leadership to uphold Kohler’s global design standards across campaigns.

Collaboration + Cross-Functional Partnership

+ Work closely with Copy, Design, Strategy, and Production teams to bring ideas to life.

+ Participate in brainstorms, creative reviews, and working sessions.

+ Present work confidently in internal reviews and partner meetings.

+ Contribute to a collaborative, curious, and ambitious creative culture.

Skills/Requirements

+ 4+ years of experience in advertising, design, or brand creative.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.

+ Portfolio demonstrating concept-to-execution work across digital, motion, social, and campaign design.

+ Working experience with photo/video art direction or production preferred.

+ Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition.

+ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); motion or video familiarity a plus.

+ Awareness of social and digital best practices; familiarity with AI, AR/VR, or emerging creative technologies preferred.

+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

+ Experience in luxury, fashion, or premium design environments preferred.

This means you’ll have access to your applicable benefit programs from your first day on the job, with no waiting period. The salary range for this position is $64,750 - $98,350. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location._
