Exploration Geologist

PeopleReady of El Centro is now hiring Exploration Geologists in Searchlight, NV! The Jr. Exploration Geologist will assist the Senior Exploration Geologist with program logistics and data collection. This will include overseeing day to day drilling logistics, sample collection and tracking, and drill core and chip logging. The job may also require the Jr. Exploration Geologist to assist with mapping, grab sampling, and channel sampling.

Pay Rate:

_The pay rate for this job is $21 - $21 / hour*_

What you'll be doing as an Exploration Geologist:

+ Assists in collecting data generated from drill programs and mapping/sampling projects

+ Sets up a shade canopy and table at the drill site

+ Transfers core segments from a drill press to a table

+ Collects core measurements and places core onto a pallet that is then placed into the bed of the company vehicle Use a rock hammer to break up core if needed

+ Logs drill cores and chips into database management software while maintaining strict QA/QC protocols for data input

+ Assists with sample tracking and sample management for drill programs and mapping projects

+ Helps guide Exploration Geology Technicians in their day-to-day duties, and provides daily outlines for tasks which need to be prioritized

+ Physical employment in which they are required to lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Required to obey federal and state laws and regulations

Job requirements:

+ Attention to Detail, Organizing Skills, Working in Hot, Cold, Wet and Noisy Environment

+ HS diploma / Associates degree in Geology with 0-3 years of experience in exploration or a related field, OR a minimum of 4 years of relevant exploration/geology experience in lieu of degree

+ Background check and drug screening required
