    The **Director** , **Studio Leader** will be responsible for overall management of the Travel + Leisure (T+L) In-House Design Studio and the work of multiple project teams focused on the design, development, and delivery of outstanding design solutions for all renovation projects within the T+L portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in interior design and architecture, with a strong focus on hospitality projects. This individual should be inventive, creative and have a mentoring talent that will build and drive a first-rate team of designers and exceed our client’s expectations.

     

    This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned interior designer to lead and shape the future of hospitality design within our studio.

    How You'll Shine:

    + Oversee multiple projects while focusing on creativity, process, service/delivery, work environment, and project documentation. [20%]

    + Direct strategic planning of renovation projects and facilitates communication with the team and business partners. [20%]

    + Aligns with designers and leadership to further the strategic goals of the Strategic Development team.

    + Manages client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination. [10%]

    + Serves as a technical resource for the studio, assisting in the resolution of complex problems, mentoring designers, meeting deadlines. [10%]

    + Review and negotiate contracts and work effectively with T+L’s legal team. [10%]

    + Onboard outsourced design firms and partners for each project, setting expectations for all stakeholders.

    + Works with Reserves and project management to identify projects and reach Design revenue goals. [5%]

    + Collaborate with Project Management and Leadership to guide the team through all phases by guiding, advising and mentoring other designers on project work, developing design direction and leading critiques. [5%]

    + Reviews conceptual development and provides leadership, inspiration and motivation to the design team to ensure that the highest quality design documentation is produced and client satisfaction is achieved. [10%]

    + Maintain Brand Standards across all of the travel + Leisure Brands to ensure consistency, quality and brand recognition. [10%]

    Travel Requirements

    + Travel will be required approximately 20% of time. US, Caribbean, Canada, Mexico

    What You'll Bring:

    + Bachelor’s Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.

    + Significant experience in the practice area of the studio.

    + Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.

    + Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading and managing design teams, with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

    + Creative Vision: Strong creative and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

    + Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

    + Excellent presentation skills.

    + Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills.

    + Ability to work closely with design leaders to promote an interdisciplinary design approach.

    + Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

    + Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

    + Proficient in Revit and AutoCad

    + Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop

    + Bluebeam Revu

    + Microsoft word, excel, one note

    + 10+ years of experience purchasing in a timeshare or hospitality or construction environment including experience in a leadership role.
