Here’s a Glimpse of the Job
The MRI Technologist supports operations at Texas A&M’s Human Imaging Facility (HIF), providing coverage to accommodate requests for imaging services during times when technologist coverage is otherwise not available (typically during evenings and weekends). Key duties include screening patients and participants for MR safety, performing MRI exams per protocol for both diagnostic and research purposes, coordinating image data transfer to PACS or research drives, and maintaining a log of scanner usage by requestor. Work hours vary weekly based on need, with some scheduling flexibility.
Opportunities to Contribute
+ Screen participants for MR-safety.
+ Conduct MRI exams according to protocols.
+ Ensures compliance with study protocols, standard operating procedures, and local and federal requirements.
+ Performs routine maintenance of scanner and accessories.
+ Performs data compilation, reconstruction and formatting, and data transfer to archiving systems.
+ Coordinates the transfer of imaging data.
+ Reviews research scans for incidental findings.
+ Performs periodic quality control scans and interfaces with support services to troubleshoot and coordinate any needed repairs and maintenance.
+ Maintains a log of scanner time used by requestor of imaging services.
Qualifications
+ High School diploma.
+ Completion of the two-year radiologic technology program, approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and holds a state of Texas state Medical Radiologic Technologist licensure.
+ Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT(MR) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
+ Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality clinical MRI exams according to protocol.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
+ Associate’s degree in a health-related discipline.
+ At least two years of full-term (or part-time equivalent) experience conducting MRI exams in a clinical setting.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Schedule: This position is a part-time role.
