The **Cybersecurity Engineering Manager** will be part of the **Cloud Security Strategy & Governance** organization, which ensures public cloud environments achieve parity with on-premises security capabilities and controls across all service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and workloads.

    This individual contributor role is central to driving visibility and governance across our cloud security program. The successful candidate will lead reporting for program performance and metrics, own and operate the **Cloud Service Certification Program** , and continuously identify and implement improvements to accelerate outcomes and enhance compliance.

     

    This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, work across teams, and maintain a strong focus on execution and outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * **Program Reporting & Governance:**

     

    Develop, maintain, and deliver centralized program reports and dashboards that capture key metrics, risks, and progress across the Cloud Security Strategy & Governance portfolio.

     

    + **Service Certification Program Ownership:** Lead the end-to-end Cloud Service Certification process, including planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of frameworks, documentation, and outcomes.

    + **Process Improvement & Acceleration:** Identify opportunities to streamline governance and certification processes to drive faster, more effective security adoption and compliance.

    + **Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:** Partner with Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, and other Information Security teams to ensure consistent, risk-based execution and reporting across all cloud security initiatives.

    + **Audit & Compliance Support:** Support internal and external audits, maintaining high standards of compliance with Amex policies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

    + **Risk Measurement & Reporting:** Support the development and enhancement of metrics, scorecards, and other reporting mechanisms to provide clear visibility into control performance, cloud risk posture, and remediation progress.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    + Minimum **2 years of experience** in Information Security or Cloud.

    + Minimum **4 years of overall project or program management experience** , preferably within cybersecurity, cloud, or technology governance.

    + Strong understanding of cloud security principles, frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, Cloud Control Matrix), and governance best practices.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience working in Agile environments or with enterprise-scale cloud programs.

    + Familiarity with major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native security controls.

    + Professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or AWS/Azure security certifications (optional but beneficial).

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and produce high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines.

    + Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to engage across technical and non-technical audiences.

    Qualifications

    Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus benefits
