    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    Performs complete diagnostic radiography procedures on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, adherence to department policies, and with effective communication with physicians, staff, and patients. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging exams inclusive of positioning patient, calibration of equipment, and documentation of findings. Provide emergency care, notifying appropriate personnel and ensures quality and patient safety is maintained. Assists patients with basic patient care needs. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Imaging Diagnostic Department. Responsible for proper maintenance of equipment, accreditation, and Departmental Performance Improvement.

     

    Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with operation of x-ray machines and related equipment to assist with radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. The Rad Tech Lead is responsible for the daily operations of the X-ray section, maintaining staff and patient schedules, assisting the radiologists in the performance of complex interventional procedures, coordination of equipment maintenance and quality assessment

     

    assurance (QA), and serves as the X-ray subject matter expert to advise leadership in their decision making. The technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

     

    1. Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.

    2. Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.

    3. Perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a registered technologist.

    4. Coordinates daily operations of their function service, both in-house and external sites, to ensure quality care is delivered in a manner that is efficient, effective and in the most cost- effective manner.

    5. Responsible for frontline supervision of members of their team and provides written feedback to the supervisor during the evaluation process.

    6. Creates a work environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesion.

    7. Motivates and inspires team members. Leads by setting a good example (role model) – with behavior consistent with words.

    8. Assures the team members have the necessary education and training to effectively participate on their team.

    9. Creates and maintains team members' work and on-call schedules. Personally responsible for covering unexpected or emergent staffing shortages.

    10. Assists the radiologist in the research, testing and creation of exam protocols as well as reviewing operational and management profiles for new service offerings.

    11. Participates in the department's new capital equipment evaluation and selection teams.

    12. May rotate shifts or be in an “on call” status as needed or directed by the organization.

    13. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

    Job Requirements

    _Required Education and Experience_

     

    Education: Associates Degree, Allied

     

    Health or Radiologic Technology

     

    Experience: Two year’s imaging experience

     

    Required Licensure and Certifications ARRT (R); MRT

    Pay Range

    $22.51 - $31.79 /hour
