Amazon Sidewalk is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape the future of IoT connectivity. You will be instrumental in helping developers and customers leverage Sidewalk's innovative technology to create compelling IoT solutions. As a technical leader, you will work directly with customers to understand their requirements, provide architectural guidance, and ensure successful implementation of Sidewalk technology in their products.

We're looking for a technologist who can bring diverse perspectives and deep technical knowledge to our team. In this role, you will be responsible for technical engagement with customers, providing architectural guidance, reviewing designs, and helping translate customer needs into product requirements. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to influence our technology roadmap based on customer feedback and market needs.

Key job responsibilities

* Serves as the technical interface between Sidewalk and our customers/developers

* Provides architectural guidance and best practices for implementing Sidewalk technology

* Reviews customer designs and provides recommendations for optimal system implementation

* Translates customer feedback into requirements for our engineering teams

* Creates technical content, documentation, and reference architectures

* Contributes to product strategy based on customer engagement and market insights

* Ability to travel up to 25%

A day in the life

This role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement. You'll spend time reviewing customer architectures, providing technical guidance, and working with internal teams to evolve our platform based on customer needs.

About the team

Amazon Sidewalk is a new long-term effort to greatly extend the working range of low-bandwidth, low-power, smart lights, sensors, and other low-cost devices customers install at the edge of their home network. We believe customers shouldn’t have to settle for connected devices that lose functionality past the front door. With Amazon Sidewalk, customers will be able to place smart devices anywhere on their property and know the devices will work, even in dead spots where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don’t reach, helping bridge the connectivity gaps around our homes!

Basic Qualifications

- 8+ years of technical specialist in customer-facing roles experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field

- Experience with embedded systems

- Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences

- Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

- 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development or IoT solutions

- Strong understanding of wireless protocols and IoT architectures

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

- Experience with AWS or cloud technologies

- Experience writing and publishing technical documents or equivalent

- Experience as a technical account nanager, consultant, solutions architect, platform engineer, systems engineer, cloud architect or in a similar role

- Experience with low-power wireless protocols (LoRa, BLE, etc.)

- Strong understanding of security principles in IoT systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
