    Devices & Services Trust, Privacy, and Accessibility (DSTPA) is responsible for maintaining and raising the trust bar for Amazon customers across a diverse set of 30+ Devices and Services. We offer horizontal services for builders to ensure trust, privacy, and accessibility is built into our products and services. We also build customer-facing capabilities that provide customers with control and transparency while reducing trustbusting risks, and enable partner teams to innovate with appropriate guardrails for content moderation, privacy, customer promises, accessibility, fairness, and trust.

     

    The DSTPA team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager with trust and privacy risk management, solution architecture, design review, and deep technical program management expertise to join our team. A successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high complexity and ambiguity, demonstrating proven success in ownership, bias for action, and thinking big.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Partner with large, cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify and prioritize privacy and trust risks across Devices & Services

     

    - Drive comprehensive tracking, treatment, and reporting of these risks, and holding owners accountable for implementing solutions until identified risks are fully mitigated

     

    - Lead solution architecture, design reviews, and track implementation of scalable, end-to-end privacy and trust automation tools, including policy automation, comprehensive data documentation and fulfillment of data subject rights (DSAR, deletion), and enforcement of privacy commitments across the organization

     

    - Provide guidance to D&S teams on design decisions and technical best practices for trust and data governance; recommend and advise on appropriate applications of privacy-enhancing technologies

     

    - Support scoping, planning, implementation, and delivery of privacy and trust controls implementation while collaborating with Engineering, Product Managers, Legal, Service Owners, and Senior Leadership

     

    - Own successful delivery of large, impactful, and highly cross-functional program initiatives while simultaneously tracking a set of smaller projects; establish metrics and regular reporting mechanisms for measuring results

     

    A day in the life

     

    This is an inherently cross-functional role requiring direct collaboration with engineers, product managers, policy and compliance specialists, legal, PR, marketing, and other Amazon builders. You will identify and expediently contain or mitigate privacy incidents and risks while implementing a Trust by Design and Default culture. Using your investigative and analytical expertise, you will demonstrate proficiency in writing and briefing complex cases. You will track risk assessment, validation, adjudication, and remediation actions, ensuring teams prioritize and execute tasks in a timely fashion. You will maintain deep knowledge of impacted systems and guide builders toward delightful customer experiences while meeting our regulatory obligations. Success requires comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with fast delivery times, rapid iteration, and data-driven decision-making.

    About the team

    Trust Fundamentals Operations (TFO) within DSTPA is a "horizontal" organization responsible for building technologies, programs, and services at Amazon scale that instill and grow customer trust, create mechanisms to confidently attain existing and ever-evolving regulatory objectives, and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our business partners and stakeholders to meet their trust obligations without disruption — in that order of priority. TFO is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of job families, experience levels and tenures, and are building an environment that celebrates subject matter expertise, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

     

    - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

     

    - 3+ years of software development experience

     

    - Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

     

    - Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

     

    - Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

     

    - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

     

    - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

     

    - Must be a good human

     

    - Must work well with others and be a team player, have high moral standards, lead with integrity and empathy

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
