Prime Air is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic hardware and related Avionic systems and architecture for Prime Air Drones. This includes, Avionic compute and Avionics distributed systems hardware. In this role you will be working with our Seattle based team to help to deploy new hardware and Avionics architecture systems for Prime Air Drones. You will work with internal and external vendors to support hardware development, manufacturing and test.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:
-Architecture and Hardware Designs, develops, Avionic compute and distributed system hardware (air data probes, lidar, radar, gnss antennas)
-Design and test other analog/digital devices components such as navigation hardware, satellite communication, air data probes, DC-DC converts and protection circuitry.
-Perform electrical analyses, circuit simulation, components sizing and selection, create electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
-Support engineering trades, estimates and interact with suppliers/partners on critical components and develop hardware from concept to mass production.
-Support developing hardware and component level requirements/specifications.
-Increase the engineering rigor behind designs, verification, and documentation.
-Perform prototype hardware and systems in labs.
-Perform formal verification testing including DO-160 and DO-254

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
- Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 6+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
- 6+ years of electrical engineering work experience in Consumer Electronics, Power Electronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Communications fields or combination thereof.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience collaborating with the ECAD/physical board designer and able to review PCB designs with Allegro, CAM350, or equivalent
- Experience with PCB design and debugging, including microprocessors, FPGAs, power supplies, and sensors
- Experience with complex board designs, including high-speed interconnects, high-reliability designs, avionics electronics.
- Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools
- Experience with integration of systems into aerospace/avionics enclosures · Electronics design/qualification experience with DO-160 environments.
- Experience with rapid iteration prototyping and joint hardware/firmware development; partnering with software engineers to bring-up and test new hardware designs.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
