Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our construction team. This role is critical in ensuring that all mechanical systems—including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection—are installed and maintained in compliance with contract specifications, safety standards, and federal regulations. The Mechanical Inspector will review technical documents, perform inspections, and collaborate with safety managers to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection to ensure proper installation and functionality.
+ Verify compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
+ Review and interpret drawings, submittals, and blueprints for accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
+ Document and report inspection results, including pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-up procedures.
+ Collaborate with safety managers to maintain site safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
+ Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders regarding inspection findings.
+ Maintain organized records of inspections, tests, and compliance documentation.
+ Utilize project management tools such as Procore and Microsoft Suite for reporting and documentation.
Essential Skills
+ Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and construction inspection.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical documents.
+ Experience with submittals and federal construction standards.
+ Familiarity with OSHA 10 safety requirements.
+ Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience documenting mechanical tests (pressure, leak, system start-up).
+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for managing documentation.
+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
+ 2–4 years of experience in mechanical inspection or related construction roles.
Work Environment
This position is completely on-site at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. The role requires regular presence on active construction sites and strict adherence to safety protocols. Inspectors will work closely with project managers, safety officers, and contractors to ensure compliance and quality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
