    Job Title: Environmental Monitoring Analyst IJob Description

     

    Join a dynamic team within a global bio-pharmaceutical company specializing in generic sterile injectable manufacturing. As an Environmental Monitoring Analyst, you will be responsible for the viable and non-viable monitoring of manufacturing areas, which includes air, water, and surface sampling. You will log samples in a proprietary LIMS and adhere to cGMP documentation practices. Analysts will also process water, product, and commodity samples, performing bioburden testing.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct viable and non-viable environmental monitoring of manufacturing areas.

    + Perform air, water, and surface sampling and log results in a proprietary LIMS.

    + Adhere to cGMP documentation practices for all processes.

    + Process and test water, product, and commodity samples for bioburden.

    + Provide assistance to Supervisors in training and integrating new hires into the team.

    + Serve as an interim lead for the supervisor as needed.

    + Participate in process improvement initiatives.

    + Ensure timely sampling to support microbiology labs in their testing processes.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related life science field with 0-1+ years of experience in environmental monitoring within the pharmaceutical industry.

    + Associate's degree or high school diploma with 1-2 years of environmental monitoring experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

    + Experience in gowning and sampling in an aseptic manufacturing environment is highly desired.

    + Proficiency in cGMP manufacturing and clean room practices.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Previous experience with LIMS and MODA sample tracking system.

    + Familiarity with pharmaceutical lab setup and aseptic lab processing.

    Work Environment

    This role operates within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, requiring interaction with both the manufacturing floor and laboratory. The position involves an 80% focus on manufacturing area sampling and 20% in the lab. The role requires working a night shift on a 2,2,3 rotating schedule from 7pm to 7am. Team members must be comfortable with gowning in classified areas (Grades A, B, C, D), and adhere to strict attire guidelines including no makeup, fake nails, or jewelry. Training will follow an initial onboarding period, progressing to team-specific schedules and certifications, which will take a few months to complete. The EM team comprises 45-50 members split across day and night shifts, with flexibility required for scheduling.

    This is a Contract position based out of ROCKY MOUNT, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
