    Join our dedicated team at Job Corps, where we are committed to empowering students to succeed personally and professionally. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Guidance Counselor to provide essential support and individualized counseling to help our students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

     

    As a Guidance Counselor, you will be a key figure in guiding students throughout their journey in the Job Corps program. Your role involves direct counseling, comprehensive case management, and the development of personalized career plans to ensure student progress, retention, and successful program completion.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide individualized case management and counseling that supports student progress and success in the program.

    + Build and maintain supportive, mentoring relationships with students during their enrollment.

    + Collaborate closely with Residential Counseling staff to offer integrated student services.

    + Ensure students actively participate in social, leadership, and independent living skill development programs.

    + Manage student progress through evaluations, weekly career success ratings, and timely documentation.

    + Develop and maintain personalized career development plans tailored to each student's needs.

    + Coordinate necessary services on and off-center, including transportation when required.

    + Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment that encourages student growth and accountability.

    + Maintain high standards of work quality, punctuality, and professional knowledge.

    + Provide supervision and mentor staff as needed, contributing to a positive and effective team culture.

    + Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, students, and external agencies, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of student information.

    + Identify and resolve problems proactively, ensuring follow-through on corrective actions.

    + Support cross-department collaboration to maximize student support services.

    + Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Center leadership.

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related subjects.

    + Minimum of one year of experience in counseling or a related field.

    + Previous experience with Job Corps or similar programs is preferred.

    + Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet company insurability requirements.
