    Description

    As a Microbiologist, you will conduct general food microbiological testing, including pathogenic microorganism analysis, under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or as outlined in the protocol. You will obtain samples from production, process sample preparations for micro testing, including media preparation as directed, and count and record micro plate counts. Additionally, you will assist in processing samples from receipt through testing, ensuring thorough documentation and recordkeeping, including data entry in the internal electronic system, and communicate promptly with the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

     

    - Conduct general food micro testing, including generic pathogenic micro testing.

     

    - Obtain and process samples for micro testing, including media preparation.

     

    - Count and record micro plate counts.

     

    - Conduct specific micro testing under the guidance of the microbiologist.

     

    - Assist in processing samples from receipt through testing, including documentation and recordkeeping.

     

    - Communicate promptly with the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

     

    Record SOP.

     

    - Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) at all times.

     

    - Proficiency in microbiology and environmental monitoring.

     

    - Expertise in aseptic techniques and microbiology testing.

     

    - Experience with sample preparation and media preparation.

     

    - Knowledge in bioburden testing and food science.

     

    - Experience in food analysis testing.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • 1 -2 years micro test or food analysis lab experiences and basic knowledge of microbiology

    • Prior QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is a plus

    • B.S. degree in food, chemistry, microbiology, biology or related is required

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
