    Job Description

    We are hiring a Senior Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance with both domestic and international regulations for flavors and finished products. This role involves reviewing and validating various panels and declarations, evaluating supplier information, monitoring regulatory updates, and providing guidance on certifications and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure all required data is collected and maintained to comply with domestic regulations (FEMA GRAS, FDA) and international standards (Health Canada, JECFA, GCC, Mercosur) for flavors and finished products.

    + Review and validate Nutrition Facts Panels, Supplement Facts Panels, Product Data Sheets, production labels, and ingredient declarations for both flavors and finished goods.

    + Evaluate and interpret information provided by suppliers for new and existing raw materials; confirm accuracy of data entered into internal formulation systems.

    + Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on business operations, ensuring timely compliance adjustments.

    + Interpret and apply requirements from government agencies and certifying bodies related to GMO, bioengineering, Kosher, allergens, Halal, Prop 65, and organic certifications.

    + Identify potential regulatory issues tied to commercial opportunities and act as a subject matter expert, collaborating across teams to resolve challenges.

    + Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal R&D teams and external customers.

    + Assist in creating compliant marketing claims for new product concepts.

    + Support regulatory audits and maintain readiness for inspections.

    + Develop, update, and enforce company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    + Participate actively in FEMA meetings and contribute to subcommittee initiatives.

    + Serve in a leadership role when necessary, including stepping in for the manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, food science, nutrition, or related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in a regulatory position in the flavors industry.

    + Experience with US, Canadian, and EU flavor regulations.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Addison, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

     

    15 days PTO, 4 floating holidays 8-9 standard company holidays Effective 2025: Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, dental, vision (may change in 2026)

    This is a hybrid position in Addison,IL.
