Mechanical Project Manager
Job Description
The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the pre-construction, planning, and scheduling processes of mechanical projects. This role involves reviewing and approving project budgets, negotiating subcontractor contracts, and managing project finances, including profitability and cash flow. The manager is responsible for ensuring the overall profitability of projects and resolving design conflicts in collaboration with engineers and architects.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process.
+ Review and approve project budgets including labor, material, and subcontractors.
+ Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors.
+ Manage project finances, including profitability and cash flow.
+ Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues.
+ Lead strategic planning and project submittal, request for information, and change order processes.
+ Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.
+ Research and suggest options on construction means, methods, and timelines.
+ Approve payment for supplier and subcontractor invoices.
+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
+ Project, identify, and manage CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources required.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
+ Experience in construction management, project management, and mechanical construction.
+ Proficiency in project scheduling and software such as Primavera P6, Procore, and Bluebeam.
+ Strong leadership and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with HVAC systems, electrical systems, and piping systems.
+ Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical design.
+ Experience with estimation, forecasting, and reporting.
+ Customer service and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
The work environment involves being on-site in a job trailer with a team, working Monday to Friday for 10-hour days, with some weekends required based on project needs. During project downtime, the focus will be on building relationships and business development activities. The position offers a vehicle allowance, gas card, and per diem for travel. Projects include data centers, healthcare facilities, advanced manufacturing, and more, with a focus on environmentally sensitive and technical environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
