    Overview

     

    The Idaho Lottery Sales Supervisor will be a working supervisor required to perform Lottery Sales Representative (LSR) duties for an identified area and supervise a regional team of LSRs. Within their LSR working duties they will routinely visit locations assigned to their area to monitor Lottery products, ensure each retailer has sufficient stock, and maintains current games. They will work to ensure that each retailer has marketing and promotional materials and proper working equipment. They will train players, clerks, and other retailer personnel on Lottery products and equipment. Along with LSR duties, the Supervisor will assist the Sales Program Manager with hiring, train staff; assign work; and monitor, evaluate, and manage performance.

     

    Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Functions

    Supervisor Duties:

    + Responsible for scheduling, arranging, and maintaining a regular travel cycle to each LSR in your designated area

    + Ride with LSRs in their region at minimum twice a year unless otherwise directed by management

    + Operate current version of sales software to manage call cycle Act as “super user” of Gem Intelligence software package for tracking of sales, parameters, retailer visits, etc. in each region

    + Training & Mentoring LSR’s on proper and effective duties and increasing sales in their region

    + First point of contact for LSRs with questions concerning Gem Intelligence, Integrify, POS, goals, parameters, work orders, trunk stock, and other relevant questions and concerns

    + Identify businesses (both chains and larger independent retailers) as potential candidates for becoming Lottery retailers

    + Ensure LSR’s are implementing POS as required

    + Attend job-related meetings, conferences, sessions, trainings, or workshops as assigned

    The following duties are normal for the Lottery Sales Representative role:

    + Manage all retail accounts in assigned region

    + Monitor lottery equipment installation and training retailers within region

    + Perform sales analysis for Retailers and implement improvement plans when needed Introduce state-wide promotions and new game information

    + Maintain a consistent route schedule to cover assigned region

    + Maintain and distribute all point of sale for region

    + Manage all Lottery inventory for retail locations

    + Update sales force automation route/retailer management system daily

    + Conduct promotions/clerk incentives at retail locations

    + Recruit new accounts in individual region

    + Build relationships with managers and staff at the retailer level

    + Place permanent signage and maintain best practices at retail locations

    + Maintain Lottery vehicle Knowledge

     

    Skills & Abilities

     

    Minimum(The required skills and qualifications needed to perform the job)

     

    + Some knowledge of management practices: developing procedures and/or monitoring a budget; supervising staff; providing liaison with customer/provider groups; interpreting federal or state regulations.

    + Have good knowledge of marketing and sales principles, specifically project planning, concepts, practices, and goals Have excellent computer skills

    + Possess excellent customer service and communication skills Be able to work independently and with limited supervision

    + Be motivated to succeed

    + Possess a current, valid driver’s license, and maintain a good driving record Be able to successfully pass criminal, credit, and public records background checks conducted by the Idaho Lottery

    + Pass a pre-employment drug test

     

    Preferred(Attributes needed for superior performance, specialty areas)

     

    + Five years of Lottery regional sales experience (or other consumer products in an established territory)

     

    Consults/Confers

     

    With All Retailers within assigned region, Sales Program Manager, Key Accounts Manage, vendor technicians and other Lottery employees

     

    Working Conditions

     

    Performs job operating a Lottery vehicle for the majority of the day, traveling from account to account, some office work out of residence and vehicle, possibility of travel out of state for conferences, be able to lift up to 30 pound boxes of Lottery materials and perform the job in varying weather conditions and temperatures
