Job Title: Test Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to perform essential tasks throughout all product test stages, from requirement definition and test planning to test procedure development, test conduct, and final qualification approval. Your role will involve thoroughly testing and verifying that mechanical components or electrical assemblies meet customer requirements through full lifecycle product qualification.
Responsibilities
+ Perform test engineering tasks for all product test stages, including requirement definition, test planning, and test procedure development.
+ Conduct qualification tests methodically according to test procedures, analyze and interpret results, and document requirement failures that may necessitate product design changes.
+ Identify the necessary test equipment required to thoroughly test the products.
+ Formulate effective regression test efforts following a product design change.
+ Estimate budget and scope of proposed qualification test efforts.
+ Prepare detailed product reports and documentation.
+ Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods to enhance testing processes.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in testing quality assurance, testing development, and electro-mechanical testing.
+ Strong knowledge of hardware, systems design, and systems engineering.
+ Experience with electronic systems, mechanical and electrical testing, test procedures, validation, and test development.
+ Familiarity with electro-mechanical testing, including environmental, electrical systems, power, and EMI testing.
+ Technical documentation skills.
+ Experience with Linux and Python for basic software programming.
+ Knowledge of cabling design and test equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical testing.
+ Experience with power testing at PDA lab and Element Testing lab.
+ Some software capabilities within Linux and Python.
+ Experience with MS Office and Word for documentation and system start-up.
+ Communication systems racking experience and telecom knowledge is preferred.
+ Consideration for both EE or CS and ME degrees, or a Testing Technician with an AA degree.
+ Experience with testing mechanical structures and electrical components, connectors, and wiring/cabling for power and transmission.
+ Familiarity with testing tools and execution.
+ Experience with Mil-Std regulations and qualifications from the Defense/Aerospace industry is beneficial.
Work Environment
The work environment promotes a small company culture working on large navy programs and technology. The role involves 50% hands-on testing and lab documentation, including opening up cabinets to investigate issues, and 50% technical writing of procedures, testing instructions, and outcomes/results. You will support lab testing and work on documentation of testing parameters and standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnsville, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
