Responsibilities
+ Ensure quality control procedures are performed and documented per lab policy.
+ Identify and resolve QC or equipment issues.
+ Utilize current medical terminology to perform a full range of laboratory testing and communicate effectively with medical staff.
+ Perform or learn microbiological testing.
+ Test samples using molecular analysis, serological analysis, isolation, and identification of microorganisms or their antigens/nucleic acids.
+ Evaluate, interpret, and validate lab results, and report findings.
+ Maintain an inventory of lab supplies and order as needed to meet testing needs.
+ Assist in preparations of epidemiology and/or statistical reports from compiled data.
+ Maintain competency in all trained areas.
+ Perform related work as required.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of laboratory computer systems.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in biochemistry, PCR, microbiology, and medical technology.
+ Knowledge of blood banking, coagulation, chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis.
+ Medical laboratory testing experience in CLIA and/or CAP certified laboratories.
+ Hands-on experience with DxI, DxC, or Abbott Alinity H analyzers is preferred.
+ Understanding of wet lab procedures and pipetting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science or Clinical Lab Science with 0-1 years of experience, or an Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology with 6 months-1 year of experience.
+ ASCP or AMT certification in MLS/MLT/CLS/MT (eligibility to sit for certification within 1 year of employment is required).
Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory setting in Henderson, NC, within the core lab department specializing in Chemistry. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with rotating weekends. Opportunities to work third shift or early morning shifts are available. The lab environment includes exposure to CLIA and BSL2 regulations and the use of LIMS, providing extensive automation and technical exposure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henderson, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
