Job Title: Welder and Fitter
Job Description
A Welder will be responsible for general welding and fitting to produce weldments for material equipment projects. While the main emphasis is on welding and fitting, other duties include fabrication, assembly, and painting of projects, as well as general repair and maintenance of shop equipment. The position requires maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified by individual prints.
Responsibilities
+ Perform general welding and fitting to produce weldments for material equipment projects.
+ Engage in fabrication, assembly, and painting of projects.
+ Conduct general repair and maintenance of shop equipment.
+ Maintain specified tolerances and dimensions as detailed on blueprints.
+ Build high-quality welded parts from blueprints with low rejection rates, with guidance.
+ Work from sketches or drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate, bar stock, and aluminum with guidance.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading.
+ Experience in Mig welding (80% of the time).
+ Experience in Tig welding (20% of the time).
+ 1-2 years of experience in the welding/fitting field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in aluminum welding.
+ Skills in fabrication, fitting, and working with aluminum.

Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position, running from 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday, with a small team of 4-5 people. Training will initially be conducted on the 1st shift.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.20 - $27.50/hr.
