    Sub-Assembly Technician

    Job Description

    Are you mechanically inclined with experience in building large, industrial equipment? Join an exciting, innovative company where your work will be integral to assembling and integrating sub-systems and components for autonomous equipment. This role is perfect for someone with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, electronics, and troubleshooting within a high-tech environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Assemble and integrate sub-systems and components according to engineering specifications and production guidelines.

    + Perform detailed inspections and testing of sub-assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements.

    + Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete assembly tasks.

    + Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to address assembly issues and implement improvements.

    + Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including any deviations or issues encountered.

    + Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.

    + Contribute to the development of assembly procedures and best practices.

    + Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation for assembly processes.

    + Strip, crimp, and assemble wire harnesses to engineering drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of recent experience with building large sub-assemblies and/or final assemblies.

    + Proficiency in using tools like torque wrenches and pneumatic drills for assembly, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their integration.

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

    + Familiar with proper use of Digital Multi Meter (DMM) and torque wrenches.

    + Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

    + Adaptable and comfortable with frequently changing and/or ambiguous direction.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Military mechanical experience, especially from the US Navy.

    + Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or sensor technologies.

    + Proficiency with pneumatic drills, protractors, calipers, and gages.

    + Experience with heli-coil and RJ45 connections.

    + IPC-620 certification or soldering experience.

    + Go-getter, confident communicator, and problem-solver.

    + Experience in the early stages of a start-up company.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
