As a CNC Grinding Technician, you will set up and operate CNC grinding machines to perform precision ID, OD, and form grinding based on blueprints or layouts.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC precision grinding equipment for ID, OD, form grinding, multi-axis grinding, and flat surface grinding.
+ Utilize diamond and other super-abrasive grinding wheels.
+ Dress abrasive wheels using dressing diamonds and rotary dressing wheels.
+ Visualize grinding to be done and plan sequence of operations, including work-holding arrangements and cutting process parameters.
+ Perform various grinding techniques such as plunge, traverse, face, form, multi-axis, and angle grinding.
+ Recognize and address abrasive wheel wear.
+ Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, indicators, height stands, gauge blocks, and gauge pins, maintaining tolerances of .0001”.
+ Select and use equipment such as grinding magnets, vises, sine plates, and specialty fixtures.
+ Apply trigonometry, geometry, and general math skills for angular and positional calculations to meet blueprint specifications.
+ Understand and correct for unexpected taper and other inaccuracies in grinding.
+ Select and use various wheel types and styles, understanding abrasives, speeds & feeds, and application parameters.
+ Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
+ Maintain cleanliness and neatness of assigned machines and work area.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC grinding machines for ID/OD/Surface Grinding.
+ Proficiency in using quality precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
+ Experience in performing full setups and editing programs using g and m codes.
+ Ability to read blueprints and setup sheets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the machining industry, particularly in automotive or aerospace sectors.
+ Manual grinding experience.
+ Ability to read Siemens controls (old controls).
+ Ability to read MasterCam prints.

Work Environment
The work environment is climate-controlled, organized, and clean throughout the facility. You will work a 1st shift from 5am-3:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with overtime available on Friday and Saturday. The schedule follows a 4-day workweek with 10-hour days, allowing for a productive yet balanced work-life experience.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wheeling, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
