    Job Description

    The Haven Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts, the Haven equipment, and performing various duties as assigned by management. This role involves setting up equipment, troubleshooting, and supplying materials for recut operations while demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the Haven process.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and report unsafe conditions.

    + Coordinate with internal and external departments as necessary.

    + Perform setups, operational checks, and complete visual inspections of recut materials.

    + Monitor product quality and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

    + Train other employees when assigned by a Supervisor.

    + Make minor maintenance adjustments to machines with proper training when instructed by a Supervisor.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Packaging

    + Forklift operation

    + Material handling

    + Machine operation

    + Ability to lift 60 lbs

    + Forklift and pallet jack proficiency

    + Use of hand tools

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles.

    + Forklift certification preferred.

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in the East Building, working 3rd shift from 3pm to 11pm in an industrial and fast-paced environment. The shipping area is part of a large steel manufacturing facility, often busy with forklifts, cranes, and trucks. The environment can be cold and drafty in winter, and employees are frequently exposed to noise, dust, and heavy materials. Proper PPE such as steel-toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses are required. Equipment used includes forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks, with strict safety protocols in place.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, IL.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.35 - $19.35/hr.
