    Concrete Materials Technician – Rapid City, SD

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a **Concrete Materials Technician** to join our team in Rapid City, SD. This role involves performing field and laboratory tests on construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and masonry to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. We are looking for someone locally in Rapid City, or someone to travel to the Rapid City, SD area.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Conduct field quality control tests on concrete and masonry construction.

    + Perform density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.

    + Transport equipment, test specimens, and documentation between job sites and laboratories.

    + Prepare and submit daily field observation reports electronically.

    + Assist with equipment setup and support other technicians or departments as needed.

    + Follow all safety policies and procedures.

    + Interpret construction plans and specifications accurately.

    Required Qualifications:

    + **ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification (Required).**

    + Minimum **2 years of experience** in construction materials testing.

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Valid driver’s license.

    + Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs., and work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

    + Willingness to travel locally and work nights/weekends as needed.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Familiarity with construction quality control procedures.

    + Ability to read blueprints and follow QC plans and SOPs.

    + Good communication and computer skills.

    + **Estimated pay range:** $24–$32 per hour

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
