Job Title: Shipping Clerk

$20-22/hr

Job Summary:

The Shipper (Shipping Clerk) is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all shipping activities, ensuring that products are packaged securely and delivered through the most efficient and cost-effective channels.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Print and review daily lists of materials scheduled for shipping.

+ Construct boxes and use pick lists to gather necessary items from the warehouse.

+ Package orders professionally and securely to ensure safe arrival; complete checklist verifying all items are included.

+ Disperse packages to appropriate carriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx, ground, or freight).

+ Select the most cost-effective shipping method when unspecified.

+ Update systems with accurate shipping details (carrier, ship date, cost, tracking numbers).

+ Utilize and maintain proprietary operational systems and spreadsheets.

+ Kit materials and affix correct shipping labels.

+ Perform administrative tasks related to shipping (reports, data entry, scanning, filing, correspondence, issue resolution).

+ Stage pallets for shipping or load trucks as needed.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

+ Serve as backup for receiving, inventory, and general warehouse duties as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

+ 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.

+ Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).

+ Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 50% of the time).

+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

+ Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

+ Self-motivated and independent with strong communication skills.

Work Environment:

+ Clean, well-lit warehouse with a secure area (no electronics allowed).

+ Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (some flexibility).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
