Position Summary
RSI is currently recruiting for a Construction Technical Advisor IV to provide oversight and assessment of heavy civil and structural construction activities, including underground and Sandfilter work, ensuring contractor compliance with design, planning, and execution standards. The position involves conducting constructability reviews, shadowing contractor assurance assessments, and participating in management walk-throughs to support quality construction execution. This position is onsite in Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Heavy civil/structural; oversight of underground and Sandfilter work.
+ Shadow and assess contractor assurance assessments of construction planning and execution activities.
+ Conduct assessment and reviews of contractor’s design activities for constructability implementation processes and procedures.
+ Conduct or participate in construction management and execution subject matter walk-through activities.
+ Perform or support SR PMO self-assessment of construction oversight activities to ensure oversight quality and breadth of coverage.
+ Conduct assessments, review and support of contractor construction activities.
+ Conduct assessments and reviews of construction activities at SRS.
Required Education and Experience
+ Must possess a degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline. An advanced degree is a plus.
+ Must have a minimum of 20 years of directly relevant technical experience.
+ Must have at least five (5) years’ experience working on large complex nuclear construction projects (greater than $100M), with multi-discipline integration.
Job Knowledge/Qualifications
+ Must be considered a Subject Matter Expert throughout the DOE or Commercial Nuclear Complex
+ Experience must include a detailed history demonstrating the ability to resolve difficult technical issues to satisfactory and successful conclusion
+ Must demonstrate knowledge of International Building Codes, AISC, ASME, NEC, NEPA, and ACI codes and standards.
+ Must demonstrate the ability to review, understand, and communicate design calculation results, drawing requirements, and specification requirements for construction efforts.
+ Work may be requiredoutside normal business hours and sometimes on short notice
