    The Vice President of Dialysis Operations is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for driving the strategic growth, operational performance, and clinical excellence of the organization’s inpatient and outpatient dialysis services. This leader will oversee multi-site operations, expand market presence, cultivate strategic partnerships, and ensure all programs meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance and patient care. The ideal candidate combines dialysis operational expertise with strong business acumen, an innovative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a highly competitive healthcare environment.

    Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership & Growth

    + Lead, scale, and optimize inpatient and outpatient dialysis operations across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

    + Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans to expand the organization’s dialysis footprint, including de novo facility builds, service line extensions, and hospital partnership integrations.

    + Oversee day-to-day operational performance, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, equipment utilization, and facility readiness.

    + Establish operational KPIs and performance dashboards to drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

    Strategic Partnerships & Market Development

    + Build, maintain, and grow strategic relationships with hospitals, physician groups, health systems, and community partners to expand network presence.

    + Lead business development initiatives including contract negotiations, partnership evaluations, joint ventures, and market entry strategies.

    + Position the organization competitively through targeted marketing, education, and outreach initiatives aligned with growth objectives.

    Regulatory, Clinical, & Quality Oversight

    + Navigate complex federal, state, and local regulatory environments (CMS, ESRD Conditions for Coverage, state health departments) to ensure full program compliance and readiness for audits.

    + Oversee clinical leadership to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, infection control standards, and patient safety requirements.

    + Direct quality assurance programs, monitor clinical outcomes, and implement corrective action plans where needed.

    + Ensure robust documentation, reporting, and alignment with legal and compliance teams.

    Financial Leadership & P&L Ownership

    + Own full P&L for the dialysis service line, ensuring sustainable growth, responsible cost management, and achievement of financial targets.

    + Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, capital requests, and ROI models for new programs and expansions.

    + Evaluate performance metrics and operational data to inform capital planning, margin improvement, and resource allocation decisions.

    People Leadership & Culture

    + Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams including clinical, operational, administrative, and technical staff.

    + Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance grounded in patient-first values.

    + Promote and articulate a compelling employee value proposition to strengthen recruitment, retention, and market competitiveness.

    + Provide coaching and leadership development to support succession planning and team growth.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Partner with finance, legal, compliance, marketing, human resources, and clinical leadership to drive enterprise-wide alignment.

    + Serve as a primary liaison with executive leadership, providing strategic updates, risk assessments, and operational insights.

    + Collaborate with technology and innovation teams to adopt new modalities, digital health tools, or care delivery models.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience

    + 7+ years of proven experience launching, scaling, or managing dialysis programs, including involvement in new facility builds, service expansions, or hospital partnerships.

    + 10+ years of prior leadership experience in dialysis operations with demonstrated innovation or development of new programs.

    + Deep understanding of dialysis regulatory and legal frameworks, including CMS regulations and ESRD program requirements.

    + Strong business acumen with the ability to articulate strategy, deliver executive-level presentations, and manage full service-line P&L.

    + Experience operating in fast-paced, competitive healthcare markets with aggressive growth and patient acquisition dynamics.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, manage diverse staff groups, and foster effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    + Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.

    + Experience working with private equity, health system leadership, or multi-state operations.

    + Familiarity with value-based care models, population health approaches, and innovative care delivery strategies.

    + Background in integrating technology or digital solutions into clinical operations
