Description

The System Administrator will keep our production, development, and corporate systems stable, secure, and performing at their best. You’ll own the full lifecycle of on-prem and cloud servers — from bare-metal/VM builds to daily operations, patching, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery — ensuring zero unplanned downtime for critical services.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Build, deploy, and decommission physical and virtual servers (Linux and Windows) in data centers and cloud environments

+ Install, patch, upgrade, and harden operating systems (Ubuntu, Rocky/AlmaLinux, RHEL, Debian, Windows Server)

+ Proactively monitor system health, performance, and capacity; tune OS and services for optimal reliability and speed

+ Rapidly analyze and resolve hardware, software, storage, and networking incidents (root-cause deep dives expected)

+ Design, implement, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, ZFS snapshots, cloud backups)

+ Automate repetitive tasks with scripting and configuration management (Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Salt)

+ Manage authentication, access control, and security hardening (LDAP/AD, PAM, SELinux/AppArmor, CIS benchmarks)

+ Maintain accurate documentation: runbooks, inventory, change records, diagrams

+ Participate in on-call rotation and post-incident reviews

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience

+ 4–8+ years of professional Linux and/or Windows system administration experience

+ Expert-level command line and troubleshooting on Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and solid Windows Server skills

+ Deep knowledge of core services: DNS, DHCP, NFS, Samba, SSH, systemd, cron, LVM, RAID

+ Hands-on experience with at least one major virtualization/hypervisor platform (VMware ESXi, Proxmox, Hyper-V, KVM)

+ Proficiency in backup and recovery tools and strategies

+ Strong scripting ability (Bash + at least one of Python/PowerShell/Ansible)

+ Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus+Node Exporter, Checkmk)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem + AWS/Azure/GCP)

+ Configuration management at scale (Ansible preferred)

+ Certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, MCSE, LPIC-2/3, VMware VCP

+ Container platform administration (Docker, Kubernetes basics)

+ Storage experience (SAN/NAS, Ceph, NetApp, TrueNAS)
