    As the Director - Sustainment, you will be responsible for maximizing the return on investment (ROI) of automation and equipment assets across the global distribution network. You will oversee specialized wire and cable cutting equipment, conveyors, AutoStore systems, and other warehouse automation platforms. You will ensure that deployed technologies consistently deliver their intended business value by managing reliability, cost of ownership, vendor performance, and lifecycle planning. planning.

    Responsibilities:

    + Ensure automation equipment continues to deliver expected labor savings, throughput, and service benefits; identify and close gaps when performance falls short

    + Own the sustainment strategy for wire cutting machines, conveyors, AutoStore, and other automation systems, from deployment through end-of-life

    + Track and improve KPIs such as uptime, throughput, MTBF/MTTR, cost per cut/transaction, and service level adherence

    + Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts programs, and vendor contracts to optimize lifecycle costs while ensuring reliability

    + Oversee OEM and integrator contracts, warranties, and SLAs; ensure service providers deliver agreed performance and value

    + Lead root cause analysis of failures and implement corrective actions to improve uptime, safety, and cost efficiency

    + Provide data-driven recommendations on equipment upgrades, retrofits, and replacements, balancing capital cost vs. sustained ROI

    + Partner with IT/WMS teams to maintain alignment between automation equipment and digital systems for efficiency and visibility

    + Ensure automation operations meet OSHA and corporate safety standards; drive safe practices in all sustainment activities

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelors Degree – Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required

    + Masters Degree - MBA preferred

    + 10 years in automation, engineering, or maintenance with proven experience in ROI-driven sustainment

    + Direct experience with wire/cable cutting automation, conveyors, and AutoStore (or similar automation platforms)

    + Strong financial acumen to evaluate ROI, cost of ownership, and refresh vs. sustainment decisions

    + Skilled in vendor/OEM management and contract governanceExcellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

    + Skilled in root cause problem-solving, predictive, and preventive maintenance

    + Ability to evaluate ROI, total cost of ownership, and lifecycle value of assets

    + Skilled in cost benefit and capital refresh decisions

    + Strong contract negotiation and SLA management with automation vendors, service providers, and integrators

    + Strong knowledge of OSHA and automation equipment safety standards

    + Ability to travel 25% - 50%

    **Working Environment:** Warehouse - Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderately quiet. Generally well ventilated and well lighted. Warehouse employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing. Operates heavy equipment. Strict safety regulations may be required.

    **Physical Expectations:** Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job.
