    Your role at Clorox:

    We’re looking for a skilled and driven Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Engineer to join our Plant Engineering team in Reno, NV. This role is critical to supporting our manufacturing operations and advancing our Operations Excellence initiatives. You will play a key role in driving technical excellence across our manufacturing and business operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead impactful capital projects, enhance operational reliability.

    In this role, you will:

    Operational Technical Support

    + Act as the go-to expert for electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation. Provide hands-on support to manufacturing operations and maintenance initiatives, serve as the plant’s electrical safety specialist, and collaborate with control system specialists to maintain and improve system reliability.

    + Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, OT networks, and electrical control issues.

    + Provide hands-on support to maintenance and operations during breakdowns and chronic issues.

    + Act as plant electrical safety champion and ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and internal standards.

    + Support MES data flow and system reliability: PLC to MES connectivity, loss reason tagging issues, line status mismatches, and basic MES troubleshooting.

    + Partner with the MES Lead and central OT&EIC on sustaining MES infrastructure, shift handoff issues, and basic configuration fixes.

    + Support system start-ups, commissioning, and configuration.

    Capital Project Support

    + Serve as the electrical engineering lead on cross-functional capital project teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective design and implementation.

    + Lead small to medium automation, controls, and OT infrastructure projects

    + Support large capital projects as the site EIC lead, ensuring designs meet plant standards and manufacturability requirements.

    + Manage contractors and vendors during project execution.

    Feasibility & Improvement Analysis

    + Conduct electrical engineering feasibility studies for new projects and process improvements, identifying opportunities for innovation, cost savings, and performance enhancements.

    Engineering & Administrative Leadership

    + Lead or support various engineering and administrative initiatives, including documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.

    + Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve recurring losses and implement permanent corrective actions.

    + Participate in root cause analysis for automation, instrumentation, and electrical failures. • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and technology upgrades.

    Documentation, Standards, and Cybersecurity

    + Maintain P&IDs, electrical drawings, panel schematics, and change logs.

    + Apply Clorox engineering and EIC standards and ensure documentation accuracy.

    + Support basic cyber hygiene: account access control, patching windows, secure configurations, and alignment to central OT&EIC guidance.

    + Ensure alignment with PLC/HMI/SCADA lifecycle expectations.

    Cross-Functional & Corporate Collaboration

    + Work with central OT&EIC on standards, system lifecycle, network architecture, and cyber requirements.

    + Partner with Ops Excellence, HSE, Quality, and Production on improvements, safety compliance, and process upgrades.

    + Mentor technicians and junior engineering staff; provide coaching during troubleshooting and project work.

    Reliability and Continuous Improvement

    + Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve recurring losses and implement permanent corrective actions.

    + Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and technology upgrades.

    Cross-Functional Leadership

    + Lead and influence cross-functional project teams, including Process Engineers, Maintenance, Contractors, and external consultants.

    + Direct the work of outside engineering firms and construction managers during project design and implementation.

    + Collaborate with:

    + Operations / Process Improvement Technicians to develop One Point Lessons, Job Aids, and standard work.

    + Safety Manager to ensure electrical safety compliance.

    + Quality to ensure repeatable, high-quality output on equipment and processes and complies with all food safety protocols.

    Technical Expertise

    + Troubleshoot and repair electrical/control systems using equipment manuals, system drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints.

    + Interpret and apply industry, regulatory, and company specifications and standards to projects.

    + Support system start-up and commissioning, including configuration, wiring, calibration, and power testing.

    Corporate Collaboration

    + Interface with corporate engineering to influence design for manufacturability and ensure smooth commissioning of new lines.

    Budget Responsibility

    + Develop and manage expense and capital budgets for assigned projects.

    + Maintain scope, spending, and forecasting within approved budgets.

    + Typical project budgets range up to $500k, with occasional projects exceeding that amount.

    What we look for:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + **Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Mechatronics Engineering, or similar with** ** 5** **years of professional experience,**

    + **Strong emphasis on** ** Allen-Bradley and Siemens control systems.**

    + **Solid understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.**

    + **Experience in project management, budgeting, and procurement.**

    + **Self-Starter with “Can Do” Attitude with a demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision**

    + **Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to interface with various levels in the organization**

    + **Working knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, NFPA**

    + **Hands On - 50% of job is on the floor in the production environment.**

    •Zone A: $88,700 - $165,900

    •Zone B: $81,300 - $152,100

    •Zone C: $73,900 - $138,300
