    Job Duties

    OPERATIONS: Department operational quality indicators meet target. All test results are timely, accurate, and available for each pt. Dept achieves and maintains JCAHO compliance. Appropriate actions are taken when procedures are not accurately followed by staff. Accurate age- specific procedures & management for the patient population being served are done. Required records are complete, accurate, timely and readily available. Dept policies and procedures for services are current. Collaborative actions regarding neurodiagnostic needs are fulfilled with multiple hospital disciplines served by testing.

     

    DIRECT PATIENT CARE: Support of department staff as appropriate, clinically Support of THFW patients as appropriate. Completion of clinical activities as necessary to manage crisis or urgent situations.

     

    RECORD KEEPING AND DOCUMENTATION: Department Organizational Indicators meet quality goals. Accurate, timely and complete medical record charting in CareConnect including notes and charges. Quick corrections of errors or omissions. Accurate patient charges compared to the care delivered. All record keeping done by end of shift. HIPAA compliance. On time billing. On time charting. On time quality monitoring and productivity. Accurate and timely quality monitoring participation with reports. Current department policies, procedures and records pertinent to area of expertise.

     

    CUSTOMER SERVICE & SATISFACTION ACTIVITIES: Meet department clinical indicators for patient safety, quality, satisfaction and outcomes goals Effective and timely management of complaints regarding our services, staff or dept. Effective participation with customers to garner input into dept processes. Timely follow up and effective communication with involved depts or individuals regarding complaints and service recovery. Appropriate and timely communication with supervisors and the chain of command as necessary to meet the clinical service needs of all patients.

     

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Ensure timely interpretation of results and scores are available for services. Compliance to JCAHO standards, HCFA standards, all Texas and federal health care law. Ensure operational equipment is properly inspected and current in date. Support effective outcomes of services Operation of the dept CI program Participation in CI education, case studies, sentinel alert training Conduct monitoring process of KPIs.

     

    FISCAL MANAGEMENT: Provides assistance and support for fiscal viability of dept. Participates in the development and monitoring of salary, supply, and overall costs per unit are on target. costs, Maintain department productivity standards.

     

    HUMAN RESOURCES: Recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments. Identify leadership talent and actively develop leadership skills for future opportunities. Provides continuous constructive feedback and timely annual performance evaluations to staff. Participates in coaching, counseling, mentoring, and progressive disciplinary action process with Manager/Director and staff. Lead employees towards achievement of department, hospital and system focus goals. Identification of dept wide systems, procedures or processes that need further education to staff. Complete employee training as required.

    2 years supervisory or management experience required

     

    Licenses and Certifications

     

    CNIM - Certification for Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring required upon hire

    Skills

    Must be able to speak, read and write English with a high level of understanding. Must be able to see the computer read outs for EEG/EMG tracings and computers used in the provision services.
