BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
This position with manage the Industrial Safety Consultant team for MSC across the United States and will focus on establishing MSC as a leader in the Safety space and driving Safety services and product growth. The role reports to the Director of Application Specialists in the MRO Business Unit and will work in coordination with Enterprise and Strategic accounts to drive Safety growth. This position will also coordinate and utilize supplier resources to achieve targeted goals, while also collaborating with the Category Team in creating long-term and strategic supplier relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Create and supports Goals and Objectives for team that will ladder up to overall corporate goals.
+ Deliver direct plans of support for Enterprise and Strategic accounts with the ultimate goal of driving Safety in each account.
+ Lead cross functional MSC effort around safety sales, gross margin, net profit, training, services (when available) and overall cost savings goals.
+ Reimagine and redesign the Safety Needs Analysis with a customer focus and the goal of delivering actionable insights in alignment with MSC's MRO GO model.
+ Support and develop the Industrial Safety Consultants nationally.
+ Expand on the deliverables around Turnkey Safety Services with the ultimate goal of self-performance in selected areas.
+ Partner with Category to drive the overall Safety strategy, including supplier evaluation and expansion, as well as further development of MSC's exclusive brand, Pro-Safe.
+ Partner with senior sales leadership to establish KPIs around Safety growth along with an executable plan and accountability.
+ Drive voice of customer (VOC) to generate insights to improve the team and MSC's Safety offering.
+ Develop and manage Safety pipeline for Enterprise and Strategic accounts.
+ Build team of Safety subject matter experts to provide hands-on support for the sales organization at all levels, including Safety and Safety service compliance.
+ Establish MSC as a leader in the Safety space and personally act as the face of that effort internally at MSC, as well as externally with customers and suppliers.
+ Partner with the Category team and deliver joint business plan commitments for strategic suppliers that are invested in the Industrial Safety Consultant program.
+ Collaborate with the Category team to provide the sales team with exclusive technical and brand support.
+ Delivering customer training with a bundled mindset, driving revenue, cost savings, and growth for focus suppliers.
+ Align with MSC's Senior Director of Risk Management and accelerate the building of MSC's Safety culture internally and externally.
+ Establish cross functional teams to drive special projects that solve a customer's need and drive revenue growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
+ Bachelor's degree or the equivalent experience is required.
+ Minimum of seven years' experience in Safety Sales is required.
+ Minimum of five years' experience and knowledge of safety supplies and the safety market is required.
+ Experience conducting safety and compliance training (example: Fall Protection, Respiratory Products, Safety Training, Industrial Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment) is preferred.
+ Qualified Safety Sales Professional (QSSP) certification is preferred and will be required within 6 months of hire.
+ Minimum of five years management experience required and preferable in the Industrial Distribution industry.
+ Consistently deliver on commitments and meet agreed-upon timelines with clear communication.
+ Actively mentor and coach team members to foster growth, build capability, and ensure long-term success.
+ Deep understanding of safety customer needs and service requirements to drive value-added solutions.
+ Demonstrates hands-on engagement to identify priorities and implement effective strategies.
+ Ability to cultivate high-performing teams and establish robust succession plans.
+ Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills for influencing stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
+ Strong analytical ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable outcomes.
+ Proven sales and facilitation skills to support revenue growth and customer engagement.
+ Outstanding organizational skills and rigorous follow-up to ensure superior customer experience.
+ Ability to lead and work effectively across diverse teams and business units.
Bonus Points If You Have:
+ CRM Expertise: Skilled in Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM platforms for managing customer relationships.
+ Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Office Suite for seamless business operations.
Other Requirements:
+ A valid driver's license may be required.
+ Position requires up to 60% of travel.
+ This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ( ITAR ) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ( CUI )

Compensation starting at $109340- $171820-year depending on experience.-
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate s relevant experience; education requirements and peer pay equity.- The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.-
