**VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital** located in beautiful Westlake Village, CA is seeking an _EXPERIENCED_ Veterinary Assistant to join our wonderful team! We are looking to hire a candidate full-time, but we will consider part-time for the right candidate.

*Full-Time associates work (4)-Ten Hour shifts

Pay Range: $20.50 - 24.00/hour

We are a small-animal general practice committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care for dogs and cats. The ideal candidate is dependable, kind, and eager to contribute to a positive clinic culture. You should be confident with basic veterinary assistant skills and comfortable working closely with veterinarians, technicians, and fellow assistants.

Qualifications

+ **1–2 years of experience** as a veterinary assistant or in a similar animal care role

+ Strong team-player mindset with excellent communication skills

+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

+ Comfort with handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments

+ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods

+ Reliable, punctual, and eager to grow

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:

+ Assisting veterinarians/technicians during exams, procedures, and treatments

+ Safely restraining patients using low-stress handling techniques

+ Prepare exam rooms and maintain hospital cleanliness

+ Support diagnostic work when trained (collecting samples, running in-house tests, etc.)

+ Perform routine animal care: feeding, walking, and kennel cleaning

+ Help with client communication: check-ins, phone support, reviewing basic home-care instructions

+ Restock supplies and help maintain inventory

+ Contribute to a respectful, team-focused working environment

Monday - Friday: 8:00a - 7:00p

Saturday - Sunday: 8:00a - 4:00p
