    Description

    The College of Business at Stony Brook University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor) of Accounting. This is a full-time appointment in the School's Accounting area. The position starts Fall 2026. Salary, teaching load, and research support are competitive and commensurate with other major research institutions. Both new Ph.D. graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Hiring for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the university.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, or clear evidence of being on track to complete the Ph.D. by the appointment date.

    + A promising research agenda; all research areas within accounting will be considered.

    + Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Demonstrated potential to teach accounting courses in information security and data analytics, supported by relevant professional experience, prior teaching experience, and/or a well-articulated teaching philosophy.

    + Evidence of contributing to industry partnerships and outreach initiatives
