About Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC)
This work unit exists to provide quality health care, personal hygiene maintenance, and an active learning atmosphere in a safe, healthy environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. This work unit provides 24-hour treatment services that are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Description of Job
This position requires a minimum of 5 days in the office
This position exists to plan, develop, and coordinate comprehensive services provided to individuals with intellectual disabilities and safeguard and advocate for their rights, safety, and quality of life. This includes coordinating administrative functions and services for the individual population by initiating changes and/or modifying administrative functions, standards, budgetary requests, technical assistance standards, operating procedures, monitoring techniques, and evaluation studies. This position supervises the ICF-IID staff in two homes in ensuring the implementation and documentation of individual programs is completed. This position is responsible as a supervisor for two individual Residential Coordinators and 20-25 direct care staff as a second-level supervisor. This position also serves as the team leader of multiple interdisciplinary teams.
Additionally, as a Community Services Manager, you can expect to:
+ Exercise appointing authority responsibilities with first and second level supervision over Residential and Community Integration services, including approximately 25 employees in the area of hiring, performance planning, performance evaluation, corrective and disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
+ Directs the overall operations of each of these departments, including approving the budget for each. Ensures regulatory compliance of all agency departments in conjunction with: DPA regulations; Personnel Rules; State Board of Nursing Practice Acts; CDHS Policies and Procedures; and other state and federal mandates. Exercises direct supervision of 3 professionals.
+ Directs, oversees, and monitors delivery of comprehensive services to individuals by leading the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team process to develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP) by reviewing the individuals’ progress in reaching identified goals in the IPP and by recommending ways to overcome barriers to reaching goals.
+ Responsible for routine monitoring, including conducting regular audits of the individuals’ records and other sources of information. This position will alert supervisors of any issues arising with program implementation or the documentation thereof. This is a Federal requirement for ICF-IID licensure.
+ On-call rotation every 8th week for one week. Ensures regulatory compliance of all agency departments in conjuction with: State Board of Nursing Practice Acts; Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID); Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division (HFEMSD) of Department of Public Health (DPH); Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS); CDHS Policies and Procedures; and other state and federal mandates.
+ Assures the effectiveness of the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team process by identifying, coordinating, and providing leadership, guidance, and training to team members (professional and para-professional) when appropriate in various subject matters related to ICF-IID, and specific areas related to specific treatment plans. Identifies and resolves problems of the individuals supported by directing and assigning specific tasks to ID team members for problem resolution.
+ Ensures active treatment components are in place and implemented for each assigned individual. Serves as the main contact for Auditors and Surveyors.
+ Provides case management for up to 24 Individuals. The Case Management duty is related to, but is distinct from, the team leadership duty because it involves direct interaction rather than delegation or oversight. Case Management can involve assisting individuals with Medicaid/Social Security forms, acquiring legal assistance, and testifying/petitioning the court for legal matters. Case Management can also involve advocacy for individuals in a variety of situations.

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to eight (8) years
Special Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field
+ Experience working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
+ Previous supervisory experience
Conditions of Employment:
+ Shift Work – WRRC is a 24/7 facility. Person in this position must be available to work any shift, any day, and/or any area to meet Agency needs.
+ Travel -Position must travel to remote work sites and must utilize a State vehicle, if available. If not available, must utilize personal vehicle and submit for mileage reimbursement

CDHS Selection Process Explanation
Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.
