    Some of what you'll be doing:

    As a Central Procurement Office (CPO) Systems and Data Analyst IV, you will support and enhance progressive systems across multiple modules and applications. You will lead the analysis, design, and implementation of system and process requirements, including developing functional specifications, configuring systems, conducting testing, and documenting solutions. This role also involves identifying and recommending customizations for both PeopleSoft and Port-specific applications. In addition, you will contribute to strategic planning efforts related to systems integration and process improvement to help define and achieve long-term organizational goals.

     

    + You will compare customer and stakeholder requirements, prioritizing needs based on business impact, feasibility, and implementation effort.

    + You will manage systems through installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

    + You will build business cases for technology improvements, presenting alternative solutions, assessing risks, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and evaluating impacts on business processes and system priorities.

    + You will research emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and integration into existing systems and workflows.

    + You will design, build, optimize, and maintain advanced Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to deliver actionable insights, ensuring best practices in data acquisition, integration, visualization, and performance optimization.

    + You will collaborate with management to proactively identify opportunities to enhance systems, streamline processes, and leverage technology for greater efficiency.

    + You will create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including business requirements, process flows, configuration records, and project status reports.

    + You will develop and deliver user training within areas of specialization, including refreshers and upgrade training as new systems and features are implemented.

    Who you are:

    + **Experienced** – You have five (5) years of experience managing software or data systems including testing and documentation of procedures and analysis.

    + **Desired** – We hope you have an Analytics Certification such as Microsoft or Google Analytics or Data Science Certification.

    + **Proficient** – You can create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and training materials, deliver user training and support, and ensure software quality through iterative testing before production rollout. You can apply your expertise in data integration, extraction, and visualization, as well as project management, process improvement, Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), system architecture, and security protocols.

    + **Problem- Solver** – You can apply advanced troubleshooting skills to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues efficiently. You can program and debug macros, and gather, analyze, and synthesize complex data to drive informed strategies and continuous process improvements.

    + **Technically Skilled** – You can write efficient SQL queries and develop accurate, actionable reports. You can leverage your foundational SQL knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or similar database environments.

    What else you need to know:

    + **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.

    + **Work Environment -** This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

    + **Washington State Residency Requirement –** Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

    + **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
