The Maintenance Technician Intern provides hands-on support to the property management team by assisting with routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across various properties. This role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in property maintenance and facilities management.
Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance:• Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC system checks, carpentry & landscaping.• Perform regular inspections of the properties to identify and report any issues needing repair or maintenance.
Repair Work:• Aid in performing minor repairs on appliances, lighting, fixtures & other property components.• Support in troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
Preventative Maintenance:• Learn and apply preventative maintenance protocols to extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
Safety & Compliance:• Follow all safety protocols, regulations & company policies when performing maintenance tasks.• Report any unsafe conditions or hazards immediately to supervisors
Inventory & Equipment Management:• Assist in tracking & organizing maintenance supplies, tools & equipment.• Report any shortages or issues with tools and equipment to the Maintenance Superintendent
Customer Service:• Respond to tenant service requests in a courteous & timely manner, ensuring high standards of tenant satisfaction.• Communicate effectively with residents and team members, maintaining a professional & positive attitude.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Abilities:• Basic knowledge of tools and general repairs• Strong attention to detail• Willingness to learn
Required Education & Training:• Currently enrolled in high school
Working Conditions:• Working in a maintenance environment may mean exposure to dust, fumes, solvents variable lighting conditions and noise.
Salary Range Information
The range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Salary Range
$13.00 Per Hour
