CASHIER / STOCK JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

As a Cashier & Stock Associate, you will play a dual role in supporting both the customer experience and operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for handling point-of-sale transactions, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean, organized stockroom to ensure products are readily available. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and upholds M·A·C’s professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Support

+ Greet customers promptly and offer assistance

+ Provide welcoming, personal, and professional service

+ Close sales with gratitude and invite future visits

+ Communicate product availability to customers and team members

+ Occasionally conduct mini product demos (based on certification)

Point-of-Sale Operations

+ Accurately process cash, credit card, and check transactions

+ Open and close the register following store procedures

+ Ensure POS balances and transaction accuracy

Inventory & Stockroom Management

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom

+ Ensure stock is replenished and available to meet customer needs

+ Support inventory control and product flow to the sales floor

Communication & Scheduling

+ Answer phones and relay messages professionally

+ Contact customers regarding product availability

+ Schedule and confirm appointments for services and special events

Brand Standards

+ Adhere to and model M·A·C’s policies on customer service, dress code, and professionalism

Education

+ Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

Skills

+ Excellent customer service and communication abilities

+ Strong organizational and time management skills

+ Ability to work retail hours including evenings, weekends, and special events

+ Professional demeanor with adaptability to change

Experience

+ Prior experience with cash handling, POS systems, and retail stock operations preferred

Description

As Stock Associate, you will be an integral part of the sales team, ensuring that stock is readily available to meet our customers’ needs.

You will also take pride in ensuring the highest standards of operational effectiveness in line with all guidelines including ensuring that the stock room is clean and well organized at all times and be responsible for effective inventory management.

Qualifications

+ Previous stock management experience preferred (preferably within a retail environment)

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Ability to work retail hours including days, nights, weekends and special events in a fast-paced work environment
